Shows and Fairs updated for 2017. The ones listed are confirmed. Some dates are still missing, and – like last year – some dates clash so we have to work out the logistics whether it is possible to double (triple) up. We will also try and fit in a few open days/weekends, will keep you […]
Month: January 2017
Frozen purps
Just to emphasize the ‘hardy’ point, frozen purps (Sarracenia purpurea) growing outside at the nursery. Wack posted some brilliant pictures on facebook as well, with water frozen in the purple pitchers! TGA
January spring clean initial results
We have finished the January spring clean. It looks a little empty, but that is because this tunnel has been completely emptied, cleaned, and only plants that have had their winter spa (cut down, checked for watering requirement, each plant individually handled) are allowed back in. Wack said: “May I compliment Lisa and you on […]
Darlingtonia
Wack’s been busy splitting, repotting and tidying up of the Darlingtonia, while Lisa and I have been busy tidying up the Sarracenia’s in the tunnels. Thanks Lisa!! A little glimpse of what the Darlo’s look like at the moment. If anybody is interested in one, let us know by mail and we will reserve one […]
Purchasing of seeds
Due to issues with our website, we can temporarily only accept and process 1 packet of seeds per order. Sorry for any inconvenience, we hope to have this fixed soon If you do want to order more than 1 packet of seeds, please just send us an email and we will arrange it – [email protected] The glamorous […]
Arctic fox
I know Wack has already posted this on facebook, but I thought this baby deserves a post on our website. She does not look like much throughout the year, then turns white for a short time in winter – enjoy – TGA
Snow
Not a lot of work done today, but it did look really pretty in the snow. Finalising the dates for this season, should be updated within days. For some shows we have to double book, therefore need to rustle up help first. Just to wet your appetites: picture of a Darlingtonia from last season
I’m still standing …
With a wink to Elton John, we have so far managed to stand up to the winds. Whenever there are serious gusts (and they do get bad out here) we feel a little trepidation when we go and look at the land – so far all still standing – TGA
Spring cleaning in January
We have started cleaning out the tunnels, weeding, scrubbing, plant maintenance It’s not so bad with an office view like the one above, and later on a sky like the one below TGA

For all you Wacks Words readers out there, today a picture of the display from Holker Hall, which did win best in show – very proud!!! Please note the water feature close-up, designed by the glamorous one
