Wack’s Wicked grow your own Drosophyllum kit (Portugese sundew kit, Dewy pine kit).

This kit contains everything you need to grow your own Drosophyllum. All seeds are fresh from the current season, and the plants have been grown, seeds harvested, on our own nursery in North Yorkshire.

In this kit are 2 biodegradable pots, specially mixed compost, 10 seeds, and instructions.

How to grow your Drosophyllum seeds

1. Sow in spring or early autumn
2. Prior to sowing the black pear-shaped seeds need to be scarified to aid germination
3. Scarification means rubbing the seed gently with fine sandpaper, reducing the thickness of the coat
4. Without scarification germination may not occur or can take months
5. After scarification soak the seeds in rainwater for 24 hours
6. For sowing, use the biodegradable pots supplied to avoid root disturbance of the seedlings
7. Fill the pots, leaving about 3mm from the top
8. Put the seeds on top of the compost, then cover up to the edge of the pot
9. Find a really sunny position on a windowsill/greenhouse
10. Stand the pot in a saucer with rainwater
11. Keep frost free
12. Germination can take several weeks

Once the plants have germinated, keep them in the same location – full sun, sitting in rainwater
