While classic Bletilla striata is typically known for its pink-purple blooms, the Bletilla striata yellow offers a beautiful true-yellow species sometimes also called Bletilla ochracea (Chinese Butterfly Orchid).

- Flowers: It produces soft yellow to cream flowers with striking reddish or brownish markings on the lip. Polyploid ‘Yellow’ varieties feature pale yellow blooms.
- Foliage: They feature the same attractive, accordion-pleated, sword-like foliage of standard Chinese ground orchids.
- Bloom Time: They typically flower from late spring to early summer.

- Hardiness: These hardy terrestrial orchids generally thrive in USDA zones 6-9 and can survive temperatures down to -20°C if mulched.
