Finally, after waiting for almost 1.5 years, Wack's Wicked Plants made it onto Gardeners World. We thought it would go out for Halloween, came out a week early (episode 28 for those wishing to catch up), should be repeated this Thursday!! Filmed at the beginning of June 2024, we had forgotten what had been covered.

We have loved watching it, despite the cringe of seeing yourself on TV. We thought it was very funny, very much like ourselves, bouncing off each other.

Obviously, as it was filmed so long ago, we did not remember what was filmed or discussed. We laughed at Helleentje's comment right at the start (in the preview) that it takes a while for the fly to paaassss (drawn out). We were asked to hold the plants, but it was really windy, so it looked quite awkward. We loved the comment about the spoon (where did that come from, Wack always uses the spoon), we liked the wine protector (Drosera filiformis), and bringing the sundew to the mosquito.

Wack's creation of the Little Pot of Horrors was great, despite using special BBC compost (the right compost - either with or without peat is available on our website), and loved the tadaa at the end! The filming of the Venus Flytraps was extraordinary, both on the turn table and the close ups catching things. All our plants looked fantastic. Lord knows what made Helleentje cuddle the Darlingtonia and say "come here".
